Control power with an IoT Power Relay
While controlling power to an appliance with an RF outlet is undeniably cool, there's a much simpler way to supply electricity. It involves a fairly inexpensive IoT Power Relay by Data Loggers.
This is the fastest and simplest way to control power - no soldering or special tools required. Grab a couple jumper cables and screw them into the pin connector (the green box in the image above) and you're pretty much good to go.
Connect your board and write high to the data pin to flip the relay and start supplying power to two outlets that are normally off. There is also another outlet that is normally on, but will be unpowered while the data pin is high. Finally there is an outlet that is always on, which is convenient if you need a place to plug your board into.
This is a pretty rugged device, and it handles a higher load than the RF outlets, which will burn out if you connect an appliance over 1200W.
